Description
Lafayette College, an NCAA Division I institution (FCS football) with 23 sports and a charter member of the Patriot League, seeks ambitious candidates for an Athletic Communications Assistant position for 2025-26. This position is an entry-level internship with significant responsibility and opportunity for travel.
Responsibilities include serving as the primary public relations contact for several sports to be determined by strengths of applicant pool and department needs. Assistant will produce press releases, game programs and game notes and arrange media interviews for assigned sports while also helping to maintain GoLeopards.com and sports’s social media accounts. Individual also will work closely with football, men’s basketball and women’s basketball and likely will have opportunities for travel with women’s basketball.
Perform all other duties and special projects as assigned by the Director of Athletic Communications.

Bachelor’s degree required

Candidate should have a background in public relations, journalism or related field and possess STRONG writing skills

Experience working in a collegiate sports information office or equivalent is preferred

Computer skills: Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign and Photoshop) and in-game statistical software (Statcrew, NCAA LiveStats) are required

Ability to handle several tasks at once while meeting deadlines is a must.
