Your New Role 

This internship will be located in the NYC or Knoxville, TN area. The selected intern will be expected to join us in the office on a regular cadence based on the intern manager’s in office schedule. 

 

The Commerce Editorial Team brings the best products, deals and shopping guidance to fans of Food Network and HGTV. Our team of shopping editors expertly test and review thousands of products every year to bring our audiences handpicked product recommendations, expert buying guides and more. We work closely with Food Network and HGTV's editorial and culinary teams to create buzzy, service-driven content that drives engagement and revenue for our brands.

We are seeking an Editorial Intern with an enthusiasm for smart shopping and a discerning eye for unique and useful products.


 
Your Role Accountabilities 

 

This intern will report to the Editorial Assistant, Commerce Editorial and will work across the Commerce Editorial team.

  • Write, produce and edit site content for Food Network and HGTV
  • Pitch cross-brand commerce ideas for site editorial and video consideration
  • Research products, ideas and trends on as-needed basis
  • Make price and stock updates to product reviews and key pieces of content, daily
  • Build multiple articles submitted by freelancers, daily
  • Assist editors in sample curation and distribution to product testers

The Essentials

  • Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Communications or Marketing preferred.
  • Must be quick learning and a critical thinker with superior attention to detail, and be willing and able to manage time/priorities while juggling multiple projects at once.
  • Must have strong writing skills.
  • Must have an interest lifestyle content, especially food and home decor/improvement

The Nice-to-Haves

  • The ideal intern also has proficiency in Adobe Photoshop and the Microsoft Office suite.
  • Familiarity with various content management systems is a plus.

Requirements for all internships:

  • Must be actively enrolled in an accredited college or university degree program for the full duration of the internship (proof of enrollment required) 

  • Must be a rising Junior, Senior or Graduate Student (18 years or older) 

  • Must be in academic good standing (3.0 or above GPA) 

  • Warner Bros. Discovery will only consider candidates who are presently authorized to work for any employer in the United States and who will not require work visa sponsorship from Warner Bros. Discovery now or in the future in order to retain their authorization to work in the United States. 

 

 

What to know before applying: 

  • The duration of the summer program regardless of which start/end option is 11 weeks.   
    • Program date options: 
      • Option 1: June 3rd – August 16th  
      • Option 2: June 10th – August 23rd  
  • Interns will be expected to work 35-40 hours per week in a hybrid capacity.  
  • Our internships are paid opportunities with a competitive hourly wage. Credit is not required; however, we will provide the necessary documentation for school credit if desired. Relocation is not provided.  
  • Interviewing will take place from February through mid-April. A WBD team member will contact you if your experiences and interests match an open internship position. Due to the high volume of applications, we are unable to give individual status updates.
