Why this role matters

The Salvation Army Australia’s Homelessness Stream provides high quality, person centred services to people at risk, and or experiencing homelessness. We support adults and families, including accompanying children with accommodation, case management, outreach support, financial assistance, connection and referral to other specialist services.

About the role

We are seeking a dedicated person for our Reception and Program Administration position!

You will be the first key interface for clients and staff whilst delivering a high standard of administration and support.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are essential in this role to ensure smooth running of processes, procedures and front facing activities for the Homelessness service.

You Will Successfully

  • Screen incoming calls and assess client’s needs to take appropriate actions and manage enquiries effectively
  • Professionally manage visitors in a courteous, efficient, and friendly manner • Provide a welcoming and exceptional customer service to all clients, internal and external stakeholders
  • Diary management and coordination of appointments and advising of client arrival in a timely manner
  • Distribute publications regarding other services to clients efficiently and accurately
  • Liaise with external service providers as per schedule to ensure currency of external referral information is maintained.
  • Ensure front of house is always neat and tidy, including undertaking regular cleaning of reception area and client meeting spaces.


This is a permanent full-time position, based in Frankston and Rosebud, VIC. Salary and conditions are in accordance with Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Level 2 Award.

You will have

  • Relevant Business qualification such as Certificate IV or Diploma in Business Administration
  • Demonstrate experience in Reception/Administration responsibilities
  • Intermediate ability with Microsoft Word and Excel and familiarity with Human Resources Information Systems preferred
  • Victorian Driver's Licence
  • A current Working with Children Check
