Senior Recruitment Manager leads the local recruitment process for City Year Chicago with an emphasis on creating new and innovative ways to increase application and enrollment for our local AmeriCorps program. This critical role will manage shepherding applicants through the entire application process to select and enroll an annual cohort of AmeriCorps Members. Senior Recruitment Manager contributes to City Year Chicago’s recruitment efforts in establishing, developing, and sustaining partnerships with a variety of local organizations and educational institutions that are focused on serving youth across the Chicagoland area that generate pipelines of AmeriCorps member candidates ages 17-25.The Senior Recruitment Manager is skilled at developing marketing strategy and presentations to communicate a compelling pitch to stakeholders at varying levels of partner organizations. More than 50% of time will be spent in the field developing relationships with other local organizations to increase awareness of City Year Chicago and build AmeriCorps Member candidate pipelines, the other 40-50% will be shared between in office meetings and supporting potential and confirmed corps members. This position will report to City Year Chicago’s Impact Operations Director.
Job Description
Recruitment Strategy
Partner with Chicago’s site leadership team to align on recruitment strategy and execute a local recruitment plan
Strategically share and leverage the corps members’ and alumni experience with prospective corps members and partner with our National Recruitment and Admissions department
Design and execute a focused marketing plan with an intimate understanding of the site’s investments in the corps experience and pathways for career and post-secondary opportunities.
Work to increase the diversity and recruitment of candidates with proximate connection to Chicago Public Schools and the communities we serve.
Outreach to community influencers who serve students ages 17-25, finding opportunities to recruit local corps (community events, community presentations)
Oversee collection and storage of information from prospective candidates and record, track and organize all scholar recruitment touchpoints
Review all application materials to ensure that they are complete; collect feedback from all stakeholders to continually improve the application process
Candidate Pipelines & Partnerships
Identify youth facing organizations (servicing 17-25-year-olds) and educational institutions (community colleges, universities and Chicago Public Schools) to execute a plan that will facilitate strategic recruitment leads to support the local AmeriCorps member pipeline for City Year Chicago with strategic ecosystems knowledge, historical application data, and goals
Cultivate leads proactively to expand the feeder institutions and organizations in the greater Chicago area and Historically Black Colleges/Universities (HBCUs) that contribute to the diversity of our candidate pipeline.
