<h2>What's the role?</h2> <p>As <strong>Senior Principal Systems Engineer - Automotive OEM </strong>you are responsible for overseeing the design, development, and integration of navigation maps, high accurate maps and the related components for automotive OEMs.</p> <p> </p> <p>This role involves a mix of technical expertise, project management, and customer interaction.</p> <h4><strong>Responsibilities:</strong></h4> <p><strong>Technical Leadership:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Lead the development and integration of navigation map systems, high accurate maps and the related components ensuring they meet automotive standards and customer requirements.</li> <li>Oversee system architecture design, focusing on the navigation map components, including data formats, algorithms, and interfaces.</li> <li>Ensure the systems are scalable, maintainable, and optimized for performance.</li> </ul> <p><strong>System Design and Development:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Develop and validate system requirements for navigation maps, high accurate maps and the related components working closely with cross-functional teams (e.g., software, hardware, testing).</li> <li>Define and manage system specifications, ensuring alignment with industry standards and customer needs.</li> <li>Lead the implementation of advanced mapping technologies, such as real-time traffic updates, 3D mapping, and autonomous driving support.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Project Management:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Plan, coordinate, and manage the project lifecycle from concept to delivery, ensuring timely and on-budget delivery.</li> <li>Track progress and ensure milestones are met, adjusting plans as necessary to address challenges.</li> <li>Report on project status to stakeholders, including senior management and customers.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Customer Interaction:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Act as the primary technical point of contact for automotive customers regarding navigation map systems, high accurate maps and the related components</li> <li>Gather and analyze customer requirements, translating them into technical specifications and system designs.</li> <li>Provide technical support and expertise during customer meetings, presentations, and reviews.<p> </p><p> </p></li> </ul> <p><strong>Collaboration and Communication:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Collaborate with internal teams (e.g., product management, map &amp; software development, testing) to ensure the successful integration of navigation maps, high accurate maps and the related components.</li> <li>Coordinate with third-party map providers and other external partners to incorporate their technologies into the system.</li> <li>Communicate complex technical concepts effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Quality Assurance:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Define and enforce quality standards for navigation map systems, high accurate maps and the related components, ensuring reliability, accuracy, and user satisfaction.</li> <li>Identify and mitigate risks throughout the development process.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Continuous Improvement:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and technologies in automotive navigation and map development.</li> <li>Identify opportunities for process improvements and innovation within the system development lifecycle.</li> <li>Mentor and guide junior engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and development within the team.</li> </ul> <h2>Who are you?</h2> <h4><strong>Qualifications:</strong></h4> <ul> <li><strong>Education:</strong> Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Geospatial Science, or a related field.</li> <li><strong>Experience:</strong> <ul> <li>7+ years of experience in system engineering, with a focus on navigation systems or map development in the automotive industry.</li> <li>Proven experience in leading technical teams and managing complex projects.</li> <li>Strong understanding of automotive navigation systems, map data formats, and related technologies.</li> </ul></li> <li><strong>Skills:</strong> <ul> <li>Proficiency in system design and architecture for embedded systems.</li> <li>Experience with software development methodologies (e.g., Agile, V-Model) and tools.</li> <li>Strong knowledge of navigation-related technologies, such as GPS, GNSS, and map rendering algorithms.</li> <li>Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze and address complex system issues.</li> <li>Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with customers and cross-functional teams.</li> <li>German language skills are a plus</li> </ul></li> <li><strong>Certifications:</strong> Relevant certifications (e.g., PMP, INCOSE) are a plus.</li> </ul> <p>This role requires a combination of technical expertise in navigation and map systems, project management skills, and the ability to work closely with automotive customers to deliver high-quality nav
