Job Description

Our award-winning agency is in search of a Multicultural Communications Coordinator, Hispanic/Latino Audience Engagement to support our communications work for federal agency and private sector clients. Federal clients include the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, National Institutes of Health, US Department of Energy, US Department of Transportation, US Department of Housing and Urban Development, Environmental Protection Agency, and others. Private sector clients include utility companies. ICF seeks a skilled communications professional who specializes in translating and adapting content to best engage Hispanic/Latino communities. Work also will involve supporting client teams through a variety of tactics, including partnerships, media relations, social media and online engagement.

This is a hybrid position with an opportunity to work remotely.

The Team

This is an exciting role working alongside a team of multicultural communications professionals who support federal and state agencies, addressing public health, climate and environment, energy, affordable housing, and accessible transportation issues. Our team of in-house multicultural communications and community engagement professionals reach African American/Black communities, Hispanic/Latino communities, American Indian tribes, Alaska Native nations, and Asian and Pacific Islander communities. The team offers excellent opportunities for growth and mentorship as part of a dynamic and collaborative organization.

The Work

We’re currently hiring for a Communications Coordinator, Multicultural (Hispanic/Latino Audiences) who will support communications efforts focused on engaging Hispanic/Latino communities in the United States. The ideal candidate will be a native Spanish speaker with a strong interest in using language skills to engage Hispanic/Latino communities on behalf of the federal government and private sector. Our work includes several public sectors, including health, transportation, environment, energy, disaster management, and education. We are looking for a professional to support new and existing tasks for public sector clients with an authentic lens toward Hispanics/Latinos. Work may include translation, transcreation and adaptation of communication materials. Other tasks may include developing content in English for Hispanic/Latino audiences, supporting creative campaign development and execution, earned and social media, and partnership engagement. This position requires a willingness to pursue certification by the American Translators Association (ATA) or equivalent. Internship experience working in communications and/or a public relations/advertising agency is a plus.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support English-Spanish translation and adaptation services to better support education activities for Hispanic/Latino communities.
  • Support campaigns and projects that are designed to reach and engage Hispanic/Latino communities, assisting with the development, execution and evaluation of audience-focused outreach efforts through partnerships, earned media, social media, materials development and community engagement.
  • Collaborate with project teams with oversight from clients and senior team members, and complete key deliverables on time and with high quality.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with organizations and potential partners who engage Hispanic/Latino communities.
  • Identify innovative technologies to support multicultural communications and English-Spanish translation and adaptation services.

Basic Qualifications

  • Associate's degree in public relations, communications, journalism, marketing, advertising or related field or equivalent field
  • 1 year of communications experience
  • 1 year of experience engaging Hispanic/Latino audiences in the United States
  • Native Spanish speaking capabilities with exceptional Spanish writing skills, a must
  • Must be able to secure a public trust clearance

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • PR/communications internship experience
  • Willingness to pursue certification by American Translators Association (ATA) or equivalent
