Job Description:

Under general supervision, performs complex accounting clerical or bookeeping tasks to support accounts payable/receivable, payroll, timekeeping, auditing, cashiering, grants accounting, and/or other accounting related functions. Posts journal entries, processespayments or deposits, and verifies accuracy of data. May lead and train other personnel.

Frostburg State University (FSU) is accepting applications for a nonexempt full-time Accounting Clerk III in the University Book Store. This position pays an hourly rate of $21.75 and includes the University System of Maryland benefits package.

Responsibilities: Accounts Receivable; Prepare daily, monthly & yearly financial reports and bank deposits as well as reconciliation reports for deposits, cash register, credit card, gift card, department & Bobcat cards. Maintain permanent advance of cash register working funds. Prepare cash registers for operation for all store locations. Handle set-up, billing & follow-up of in-house accounts and grants.  Handle credit card disputes & invoice discrepancies.  Responsible for inventory receiving of invoices in the Point-of-Sale system.  Assist in additional accounting responsibilities as needed. Assist in answering bookstore phone and email.  Assist with web order management which includes processing orders, declines, refunds & web order modifications.  Manage gift card, refund & void logs. Assist in maintaining UStore website and social media sites. Assist with Special order management; caps and gowns, nursing uniforms, homecoming/family weekend shirts.  Creating sales events in system and creates or assists in overseeing advertisement flyers.

Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or GED with three years of accounting clerical experience.

Except for qualifications established by law, additional related experience, and formal education in which one has gained the knowledge, skills, and abilities required for full performance of the work of the job class may be substituted for the education or experience requirement on a year-for-year basis with 30 college credits being equivalent to one year of experience.
