About the role

Madrigal is a biopharmaceutical company focused on delivering novel therapeutics for metabolic dysfunction-associated steatohepatitis (MASH), a serious liver disease that can progress to cirrhosis, liver failure, need for liver transplantation and premature mortality. Madrigal’s medication, Rezdiffra (resmetirom), is a once-daily, oral, liver-directed THR-β agonist designed to target key underlying causes of MASH. Rezdiffra is the first and only medication approved by both the FDA and European Commission for the treatment of MASH with moderate to advanced fibrosis (F2 to F3). An ongoing Phase 3 outcomes trial is evaluating Rezdiffra for the treatment of compensated MASH cirrhosis (F4c).

The Senior Manager, IT Business Partner – Human Resources serves as the primary bridge between HR and IT, shaping the technology roadmap that supports Madrigal’s people strategy. This role ensures that HR systems, particularly Workday, evolve to meet business needs through innovation, integration, and data-driven insight. Partnering with HR and IT leaders, this individual translates strategic objectives into scalable digital solutions that enhance employee experience, operational efficiency, and enterprise alignment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as a point of contact between HR and IT to understand organizational needs, priorities, and issues.
  • Provide functional and technical support for Workday modules such as HCM, Recruiting, Compensation, and related areas.
  • Collaborate with HR stakeholders to define and manage technology plans that address talent management, workforce planning, and employee engagement.
  • Convert business requirements into technical specifications and work with IT teams or vendors to implement solutions.
  • Lead and coordinate enhancements, upgrades, testing, and change management activities for HR systems.
  • Work with HR Operations to maintain data accuracy, automate processes, and enhance reporting capabilities across platforms.
  • Support integration between Workday and third-party benefit providers
  • Monitor developments in HR technology and suggest improvements and innovations.
  • Ensure adherence to internal controls, data privacy policies, and audit requirements related to HR systems.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of experience in IT or HR systems roles, with at least 5 years as a Workday functional or technical expert.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting multiple Workday modules, including HCM, Recruiting, and Compensation.
  • Proven ability to partner with HR and business stakeholders to deliver impactful technology solutions.
  • Strong understanding of HR business processes and data management best practices.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with Workday integrations

Desired:

  • Prior experience as an IT Business Partner or HR Technology Lead in a life sciences or high-growth organization.
  • Experience with analytics platforms (e.g., Power BI) and HR data reporting.
  • HR systems certification (e.g., Workday Pro) is a plus.

Base salary is determined by several factors including the candidate’s qualifications, skills, education, experience, business needs, and market demands.  As of the date of this posting, a good faith estimate of the current pay scale for this position, applicable to all candidates, is $149,000- $182,000 per year.  We comply with all applicable minimum wage laws.
