Function Overview
Group Data Office is the Group Central Data and Analytics arm that works closely with the Group Businesses and Group Corporate functions to enable the execution Nomura Group Strategy through Robust Data Standards & Governance, Actionable Performance Metrics & MIS, and High Impact Information and Analytics Products and Solution.

 

Job Purpose:
To support the AeJ Data Governance initiatives and the data management framework implementation

 

Job Responsibilities:

•    Leadership position. Proven experience in driving senior engagement and ongoing organisational adoption of enterprise data management framework, policy, guidelines and standards.
•    Regulatory engagement. Maintain deep understanding of existing and emerging regulatory requirements, and management of regulatory interactions.
•    Strong technical skills and data-driven approach. State-of-the-art expertise in leveraging data and digitization capabilities to drive pre-emptive data risk and controls automation and management.
•    Trusted partner. Shape data governance agenda at Nomura, and work with all of Nomura’s data owners, stewards, custodians and consumers in improving conformance with data management requirements to enhance data value.


Qualification & Core Skills requirement:

•    Preferred MBA or Masters in quantitative fields (Computer Science, Statistics or similar) with of 10 to 15 years of overall experience.

•    Financial Services and Other adjacent Consumer centric business

•    Deep understanding of relevant laws and regulations in relation to data and financial services firms’ obligations; includes managing and co-ordination regulatory engagement on data matters such as BCBS239 compliance and material outsourcing       requirements (Cloud).

•    Develop and implement a comprehensive data governance framework:

  •   Develop and implement a data governance framework that aligns with industry best practices and regulatory requirements, and ensures compliance with data privacy and security regulations.
  •   Define data governance policies, standards, and procedures that ensure data quality, security, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  •   Collaborate with business stakeholders to identify and prioritize data governance initiatives that support the organization's strategic objectives.

•    Governance with AI ethics:

  •   Develop and implement AI ethics guidelines and standards that ensure the responsible use of AI in data governance.
  •   Ensure that AI-driven data governance tools and technologies are aligned with industry best practices and regulatory requirements.

•    Deep understanding of data governance frameworks, policies and guidelines, encompassing data standards, metadata management, data quality, data stewardship, and data protection.
•    Deep understanding of data management technologies (data catalogue, data quality management), enterprise and Cloud technologies and associated internal governance and regulatory requirements.
•    Data Governance Metrics and Reporting:

  •   Develop and maintain data governance metrics and reporting that track progress and ensure compliance with data governance policies and standards.

•    Data Governance Audit and Compliance:

  •   Support data governance audits and assessments to identify and remediate areas of non-compliance and provide recommendations for improvement.

•    Understand and utilize design thinking in executing projects
•    Good at stakeholder management with great communication skill to ensure that the federated model works in the data management framework implementation and adoption
•    Train and mentor teams and internal business units and stakeholders n data management framework requirements, improvements and operationalization.
•    Understand agile ways of working, and able to manage and deliver multiple projects effectively. Can plan, requirements and dependencies; manage complex analysis and enable necessary reporting.
