We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Database Engineer to join our dynamic team. As a Senior Database Engineer, you will play a critical role in enhancing the performance and scalability of various database services, ensuring that our systems meet the highest standards of reliability and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

• Proactively escalate and resolve issues to prevent potential problems, ensuring uninterrupted operation of database services.
• Collaborate with development and infrastructure teams to optimize the performance of database systems.
• Ensure adherence to data and access standards, working closely with engineering teams to implement best practices.
• Fine-tune operating systems and databases for optimal performance and scalability.
• Support application teams with SQL tuning, indexing, and partitioning strategies to enhance read/write efficiency.
• Design, develop, and implement database systems based on customer requirements.
• Administer and troubleshoot MySQL databases, including security patching, SQL tuning, capacity planning, and schema design.
• Develop and implement processes and procedures to minimize database outages and downtime.
• Participate in database design and architecture to support application development projects.
• Troubleshoot database and application issues, implementing solutions in a timely manner.
• Automate routine maintenance, monitoring, and deployment procedures to streamline operations.
• Maintain a client-focused approach, earning the trust and loyalty of our valued clients.
• Develop best practices for database design and development activities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, plus 7+ years of related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Proven work experience as a Database Engineer or similar role in a relevant field.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to think algorithmically.
• Experience with MySQL, MS SQL, PostgreSQL, or other relational databases.
• Deep understanding of relational database design and SQL.
• Ability to create, update, and maintain stored procedures effectively.
• Working knowledge of agile lifecycle management tools such as JIRA.
