Compression Systems Engineering (CSE) Structures Engineer (Hybrid) will provide structures analytical support for commercial and military programs, with responsibility for the durability and structural integrity of gas-turbine compressor components.  This includes airfoils, rotors & shafts, cases, and actuation linkage systems. 

What You Will Do

  • Provide analytical support for preliminary & detailed design, through development, validation, certification, manufacturing and operational service.
  • Cover validation testing (engine and rig) and data-reduction as well as support in-service field investigations.
  • Use FE and classical methods for strength, stress/deflection, vibration, fatigue life, damage tolerance, containment, kinematic and optimization analyses.
  • Participate on multi-discipline teams to provide design solutions that balance customer requirements for durability, performance, cost and weight.
  • Coordinate with others to advance technology and improve engineering standard work processes/methods.
  • Document and present results to management and internal customers.

Qualifications You Must Have

  • BS in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering (or equivalent) with 2+ years of relevant experience
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.
  • Travel Requirements -10%

Qualifications We Prefer

  • Experience with fatigue/fracture analyses.
  • Structural analysis experience, with problem solving skills using FEM for stress/deflection and vibration analyses

Compression Systems Engineering (CSE)

Compression Systems Engineering is responsible for the design, development, and in service support of all fans low-pressure and high-pressure compressors for commercial and military engine models. CSE is responsible for the identification and maturation of new technologies for these products.

Technical disciplines in CSE include Project Engineering, Mechanical Design, Structural Analysis, and Product Definition.

Aftermarket and Sustainment Engineering executes both military and commercial repair design and repairs substantiations for engines. We create and improve ASE business and repair development tools. We design, develop, and qualify military repair tooling.

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance workers, as they are essential to the development of our engines.

Candidates will learn more about role type and current site status throughout the recruiting process. For onsite and hybrid roles, commuting to and from the assigned site is the employee’s personal responsibility
