How You Will Make an Impact
As a Test Engineer II, you will play a critical role in the development, integration, and continuous improvement of next-generation compute platforms, including AI/ML, GPGPU, server, networking, and storage systems.
You will lead test engineering activities in a high-volume manufacturing environment, driving product quality, system performance, and operational excellence through advanced troubleshooting, automation, and team leadership.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Leadership & Engineering
- Design, develop, and maintain test procedures, test systems, hardware, and software for advanced compute platforms.
- Lead failure analysis and root cause investigations across hardware and software domains.
- Troubleshoot complex server, networking, storage, and accelerator-based systems.
- Support AI/ML, GPU, and high-performance compute platforms through integration and production.
- Interpret test logs, JSON outputs, and system data to identify trends and drive improvements.
- Develop and deploy automation using Python and Bash scripting.
- Analyze manufacturing and system data using Excel and Power BI.
- Support NPI (New Product Introduction) readiness and production ramp.
Networking & Systems
- Configure and troubleshoot networking systems (switches, routers, LAN/WAN, Layer 3).
- Support optical networking technologies (transceivers, fiber optics).
- Utilize and train others on Linux command-line tools and scripting.
Liquid Cooling & Thermal Systems (Advanced Compute Focus)
- Apply heat transfer, thermodynamics, and fluid mechanics principles to liquid cooling systems.
- Work with components such as pumps, cold plates, chillers, reservoirs, tubing, and coolants (e.g., PG25).
- Use instrumentation including thermocouples, flow meters, and pressure sensors.
- Perform leak detection, material compatibility analysis, and coolant safety procedures.
- Support immersion and direct-to-chip cooling technologies.
- Work with OCP standards, BMS/SCADA systems, and specialized equipment (particle analyzers, pressure testers, fill/flush/purge systems).
Leadership & Management Responsibilities
Team Leadership
- Lead, mentor, and develop Test Engineers and technicians.
- Recruit, interview, and retain top talent.
- Build training programs and develop team capabilities.
Performance Management
- Set measurable goals aligned with operational and business objectives.
- Provide coaching, feedback, and performance evaluations.
- Drive continuous improvement in productivity, quality, and engagement.
Business & Strategy
- Align test engineering strategy with site and organizational goals.
- Lead workcell test engineering teams and customer programs.
- Present technical findings and communicate effectively with stakeholders and customers.
Operational Excellence
- Apply LEAN manufacturing principles and quality metrics (Yield, GRR, DPPM).
- Identify cost reduction opportunities through process optimization and automation.
- Monitor test performance and implement improvements across programs.
Minimum Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field (preferred)
Experience
- 2+ years in test engineering, failure analysis, or hardware validation in manufacturing environments
- Experience with:
- Server, networking, and storage systems
- Linux environments and scripting (Python, Bash)
