The role is part of the In-Space Systems business unit, which is focused on addressing two of the most compelling challenges in spaceflight today: space infrastructure and increasing mobility on-orbit.As part of a hardworking team of engineers, you will provide leadership across the space vehicle organization, working with the team to integrate core bus capabilities with a wide variety of customer payloads and missions. You will be responsible for the full systems engineering lifecycle, culminating in delivery of a fully verified space vehicle for integration with ground and launch systems.

Responsibilities:
- Primary technical lead for delivery of an integrated-vehicle solution, including integrated bus and hosted or separable payloads
- Work across Bus and Payload organizations to lead the full-lifecycle of vehicle development, ensuring coordination in design, implementation, build, and test of the vehicle solution
- Responsible for leading the technical vehicle level performance metrics and modeling to support environmental qualification
- Own delivery of technical data products to customers, as well as internal and external partners
- Develop and mature the “space” portion of space to ground interface, and work with ground and end-to-end engineering to meet interface requirements

Minimum Qualifications:
- B.S. in Aerospace, Software, Electrical, Mechanical, Physics, Systems Engineering, or related technical subject area
- 15+ years of technical experience developing advanced space solutions
- Strong background developing space vehicle requirements, and interface definitions, test planning, and system verification
- Demonstrated experience leading vehicle integration and verification activities
- Expertise in vehicle level performance and environmental compliance analysis
- Experience in mission design lifecycle from conceptualization through operational flight
- Outstanding customer relationship skills including the ability to discover the requirements underlying feature requests, recommend alternative technical and business approaches, and lead engineering efforts to meet aggressive timelines with efficient solutions.
- Active Top Secret clearance
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to earn trust and maintain positive and professional relationships
Desired Qualifications:
- Ph.D. in Aerospace, Software, Electrical, Mechanical, Physics, Systems Engineering, or related technical subject area
- Multiple spacecraft missions of operational ground navigation support and/or leadership
- Applied expertise in ground-based satellite navigation and statistical orbit determination processes, including radiometric and GPS.
- Experience with electric propulsion satellite missions and/or GPS commercial satellite missions
- Familiarity with Integration floor and knowledge of production quality control
- Experience handling parts control for government customers
Compensation Range for:
WA applicants is $164,682.00-$230,554.80Other site ranges may differ
