The Sr. Global Controls Engineer will have a key role in control and automation engineering systems, requiring extensive experience in various aspects such as specification, design, programming, configuration, testing, installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting of customized equipment. This position will collaborate with a global team, traveling internationally up to 40% of the time, to ensure control platform standardization and contribute to continuous improvement projects and new equipment launches.

The Sr. Global Controls Engineer is part of Pall’s Global Operations Engineering team and will be based onsite in one of the following Sites with travel globally as needed: Putnam, CT, Cortland, NY, Deland, FL, Port Washington, NY.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Align technology solutions with business strategies. Primarily working with Allen Bradley platforms and upgrading old control schemes to the latest platform. Primary areas of specialty include: controls (PC/PLC/HMI), automation, robotics, manufacturing techniques, and electrical engineering.

  • Drive manufacturing and project teams to deliver capital projects, manufacturing process improvements, and solve manufacturing challenges using World Class Operations processes and Continuous Improvement principles, such as DMAIC, PSP, PDCA

  • Investigate and implement technologies that will improve plant operation and strategic performance (e.g. reliability, efficiency, environmental) and technologies that will assist with control system maintenance and analysis.

  • Acts as the principal designer for major systems and their subsystems. Proven track record of being able to understand the design intent of the process and hardware, while ensuring the controls maximize the desired output.

  • Acts as a technical leader and expert by displaying strong written and verbal skills to guide teams toward targeted solutions. Owns and manages system control changes to ensure proper maintenance and revision.

The essential requirements of the job include:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Education, Information Technology, Information Systems, Computer Engineering, Technical, Software Engineering.

  • 7+ years of professional experience designing and implementing control software.

  • Strong experience with Programmable Logic controllers (Allen Bradley Preferred), Experience with HMI design and build, communications, networks, and instrumentation

  • Strong knowledge of electrical and electronics theory

  • Ability to prioritize workload and project demand with the ability to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

  • Demonstrated ability to be "hands-on" and to go to Gemba to learn new processes and build subject matter expertise through on-the-job experience and job assignments.

  • Exposure and/or experience in manufacturing associated with batch or chemical processing.

  • Proficient use of the following software packages or equivalent:  Allen Bradley, omeron, siemens, wonderware, Maple systems, MS Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint),SAP, SCADA Systems, AWS, etc.

The salary range OR the hourly range for this role is 120K-135K. This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future.

This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay.
