Intern - Analytics

WBS, a subsidiary of WEC Energy Group, is seeking a Intern - Analytics in our Milwaukee, Wisconsin location. This internship is full-time during the Summer of 2024 with the potential to work part-time during the academic year. The hourly rate for this position starts at $19.30 with paid company holidays.

Job Summary

The Customer Service Business Analytics team is focused on enabling data-based decision making through clear consist metrics, monitoring, and robust data analytics. As an intern you will be supporting the implementation of the AWS corporate data platform and the operational metrics technology replacement project throughout 2024 with the potential to work part time during the academic year.

Job Responsibilities

• Assist with the definition and documentation of departmental data that's brought into the new AWS data platform, in addition to helping clean and aggregate the data.
• Assist in the development and automation of extracts from the AWS data platform necessary to support this metrics project.
• Provide support for existing solutions as the need arises.
• Function as a team member for new analytic projects as assigned.
• Work with internal company clients to understand their analytics and reporting requirements, and develop effective solutions that meet their needs.
• Help define, gather, model, transform, analyze, and report departmental data from the new AWS data platform or on-premise data sources. 
• Contribute to the development of analytics team skills, knowledge and capabilities. 
• Other projects as assigned.

 

As an Analytics Intern you will learn:

• Programming Languages 
• Building and optimizing data models
• Dashboard and report design
• Day-to-day interactions with various departments 

Minimum Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED, or HSED 
• Current pursuit of a Bachelor’s degree or higher preferably in Information Technology, Data Analytics, Business, or closely related degree.
• Minimum GPA of 2.8
