The Construction Coordinators are Sustaining Capital Engineering representatives on capital projects. The Construction Coordinators report directly to the Sr. Project Supervisor for capital projects. The Construction Coordinators are responsible for checking all contractor installations to ensure that they comply with engineering drawings, specifications, client requirements, latest applicable code requirements, work is executed in a professional and quality manner. Construction Coordinators report capital project progress and problems to the Project Engineer / Project Manager. Construction Coordinators must have a thorough knowledge of all construction drawings, specifications, and standards.
What you will do:
- Monitoring construction work for safe work practices, monitoring of quality and compliance with project requirements, performing job observations
- Develop scope of work for construction phases
- Develop preliminary construction schedules
- Field walkdowns for bid proposals from general contractors
- Insert purchase requisitions in SAP for projects
- Ensuring that client Safety Rules and Regulations are observed
- Monitoring construction progress and reporting potential delays
- Witnessing special tests such as weld NDE/radiographs, hydrotests, loop checks, load tests, electrical testing, equipment alignments, etc
- Coordinating inspection / QA operations with plant operations
- Documenting all quality surveillance and test results
What you will bring:
- 5 years maintenance exp in an industrial or petro chemical plant or college degree
- Knowledge of Quality Control Processes.
- Knowledge of safety and environmental regulations including OSHA
- Project planning and scheduling experience
- Scheduling techniques and software
- Proficiency in computer programs including Microsoft Office Suite and scheduling software with SAP preferred
