As a Senior Consultant, you will be part of our Clearing and Settlement Product Development Team (in Payment Products Development) to help design, enhance and build our Real-Time Settlement application. You will work with colleagues closely in order to create design documents, code, test, and implement new features, as well as modifications, and corrections to existing software. In this role you will provide technology leadership in development of Business Enhancement projects by helping to drive project planning, estimation, and technology planning.

Essential Functions

• Collaborate with business units and technical staff to define requirements/modifications for use in designing appropriate solutions.

• Take ownership and/or leads the engineering responsibility for multiple components in a project.

• Evaluate options and provide recommendation on scope and scale of effort required to develop solutions.

• Leads and/or supports both product and technical discussions about how to apply existing and/or new technology in support of the business.

• Work with MVS Engineering team to build and deploy new industry solutions.

• Identify manual processes that can be automated and proactively automate those.

• Develop and maintain configuration and release scripts.

• Provide release planning services and installation script development for new applications where necessary.

• Build and maintain highly available systems on Kubernetes.

• Develop automated build jobs using continuous integration platforms.

• Develop/improve automated deployment jobs using common scripting languages.

• Develop/improve and deploy source code branching methodologies and associated automation.

• Develop/improve release process improvements and update release standards documentation.

• Work on improving and automating our processes to streamline operational work and monitor the systems in place and anticipate and mitigate potential issues.

• Selecting and deploying appropriate CI/CD tools.

• Must be able to understand the positioning of a solution within the company and to build consensus to effectively gain buy-in from all participants.

• Evaluate options and provide recommendation on scope and scale of effort required to develop solutions.

• Comfortable to work with zOS/zCX.

• Identifying and deploying cybersecurity measures by continuously performing vulnerability assessment and risk management.

• Contribute during technical security engagements to ensure VISA’s compliance with internal and regulatory requirements.

This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:
•8 or more years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor Degree or at least 5 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 2 years of work experience with a PhD

Preferred Qualifications:
• 9 or more years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor Degree or 7 or more relevant years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 3 or more years of experience with a PhD
• Expert-level experience and knowledge with container technologies and container platforms such as docker, podman, etc.
• Expert-level experience with container orchestrators such as Kubernetes.
• Expert-level experience with container networking on Docker.
• Proficient experience with container orchestrator device plug-ins.
• Proficient knowledge and experience working on system internals of Linux.
