At Recursion, we combine experimental biology, chemistry, automation and artificial intelligence to quickly and efficiently identify treatments for diseases. We generate a wide variety of data across different biological and chemical domains, and build models off of that data. Reporting to the Director of IT Infrastructure Operations, Enterprise Applications, and Security Operations, the Senior Network Administrator will help build, maintain, and support a first-class network and system infrastructure to accelerate Recursion’s mission and goals.
The Impact You’ll Make
- Partner with Lead Engineers in technology evaluation, design and implementation activities.
- Lead the configuration and installation activities of applications selected for implementation.
- Create and maintain thorough documentation including configuration, processes, procedures, and runbooks.
- Oversee application status and drive configuration, installation, maintenance, upgrades, and general support. Ensure the alignment of all activities to existing policies, processes, and procedures. Assist with user and group access to applications.
- Drive performance improvements. Ensure application uptime meets or exceeds defined SLAs. Empathize with customers and advocate for the customer point-of-view. Identify priorities and present solutions, keeping the customer in mind.
- Learn and adapt quickly to new situations, changing priorities, and disruptive technologies. Create opportunities to develop continuous improvement efforts. Maintain currency with latest industry knowledge and take initiative to experiment with new ideas and technologies.
- Continually develop new skills, knowledge, and abilities to maintain currency on developments with supported applications and architecture. Consistently align department activities with industry best practices.
- Analyze problems by performing root cause analysis exercises. Identify and recommend solutions for problem resolution and prevention. Mentor junior staff in problem-solving and troubleshooting techniques. Engage vendor support to leverage product expertise. Critically evaluate the benefits of implementing a temporary workaround versus a permanent solution.
- Assist with general System Administration activities as required.
- Perform other related duties as assigned or requested.
The Team You’ll Join
- You will be joining a growing IT and Information Security team at Recursion, focused on securely implementing and operating our applications, systems, IT iInfrastructure, tools, and technologies that enables Recursion to decode biology by running experiments at scale from experiment conception through successful execution. You'll collaborate with your teammates and across departments to agree on what the most important challenges and capabilities are, then figure out how to get us there.
The Experience You’ll Need
- Proven ability to communicate credibly and confidently when interacting with customers, coworkers, and stakeholders. Present application status and proposed solutions in a logical manner with a focus on benefits and based on relevant data. Convey Application Technical concepts to non-technical audiences (e.g. senior and executive management, internal customers)
- 5+ years of Hands-On operations experience with Enterprise Technologies, particularly ERP, HRIS, and Clinical Development systems with additional experience in Finance, Procurement, Inventory Management, Order Management, Payroll, Benefits, Onboarding modules, Clinical Trial Management, Drug Safety, IVR and EDC.
- 10+ years of Enterprise IT experience in mid-size or larger organization preferably in the Pharma/BioTech space
- Experience with Windows, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and associated Windows services
- Proficiency in one or more programming/scripting languages
- Excellent project management skills
