About the Role
We are currently expanding our Residential Youth Support Worker team and will be recruiting in the Geelong area. This will be a great position for someone that wants to make a change in Children and Young Person's lives. A genuinely rewarding Permanent Part-Time or Casual role, with most time spent in the house or participating in recreational activities. You will be working directly with children and young people; The positions are based in a 24/7 Residential Setting with fortnightly rotating shift rosters.
Suitable applicants will be asked to attend an Information Session and Interview, held in-person, on Thursday 18th September 2025 at the Life Without Barriers, Geelong Office. Information Session 9:30am - 11:00am / 1:1 Interviews between 11:00am - 3:30pm.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide day to day care, supervision and transport to children and young people
- Actively participate in activities and increase competencies of young people
- Form and maintain professional, nurturing relationships
- Develop, implement and monitor individual plans
- Actively support the child/young person to develop and maintain social skills
- Maintenance of progress notes and report writing
Skills & Experience
- Certificate 4 in Community Services, Youth Work, Mental Health, or similar is preferred
- A current First Aid and CPR Certificate, or willingness to complete prior to commencement
- A current unrestricted Australian Driver Licence
- Ability to work various shifts (sleepover & active nights) throughout the week
- Prior knowledge and/or experience working with children or young people
Successful candidates will be required to clear probity checks including National Criminal History Record Check and Working with Vulnerable People check
