In this role, you will be responsible for the development and delivery of cutting-edge security solutions that protect our global customers. You will lead a high-performing team of engineers, fostering a culture of innovation, technical excellence, and continuous improvement while aligning with our global security strategy.</p> <h2>What you’ll do</h2> <ul> <li>Lead and mentor a multi-disciplinary engineering team focused on building scalable security products.</li> <li>Drive the technical roadmap and execution for security features, including threat detection, identity management, and data protection.</li> <li>Manage delivery timelines, inter-team dependencies, and proactive risk mitigation to ensure successful on-time execution of product milestones (e.g., preview and GA launches).</li> <li>Establish and lead sustaining engineering practices, including prioritizing technical debt reduction, resolving aging tickets, and ensuring comprehensive security rule and feature coverage.</li> <li>Collaborate with Product Management and Security Architects to define product requirements and technical specifications.</li> <li>Ensure high standards of code quality, security best practices, and operational excellence across the development lifecycle.</li> <li>Manage recruitment, performance reviews, and career development for the engineering team.</li> </ul> <h2>What You’ll Add to DigitalOcean</h2> <ul> <li>Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.</li> <li>10+ years of experience in software engineering, with at least 4+ years in a senior leadership or management role.</li> <li>Proven track record of delivering complex security products or cloud-scale distributed systems.</li> <li>Deep understanding of security protocols, cryptography, and modern web application security.</li> <li>Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills within a global organizational structure.</li> <li>5+ years of experience in software engineering, with significant exposure to building products at security companies or with
