Job:
Research Assistant: Social JournalingPart time research assistant on an social journaling research project from the Computer Science department at Barnard.The research assistant will contribute to user research about how we can support long-distance friendships using journaling practices.
Job Description:
- Design user study protocol and IRB materials for providing participants with information about study guidelines and expectations
- Managing recruitment and communication with participants to schedule user study and follow up interviews
- Qualitative analysis of study data, including video recordings, interviews, and artifact analysis
- Academic writing of user study results in preparation for conference paper submission
Skills, Qualifications & Requirements:
- MA in Education, Cognitive Science, Psychology, or related fields
- Experience with user research logistics (recruitment, scheduling, and conducting of user research studies)
- Qualitative research experience (including thematic analysis and case studies)
- Experience with academic writing
Hourly Rate: $26/hour
The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The above hiring range represents the College's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
