Wind Energy, both onshore and offshore is one of our key enablers for creating fossil freedom. Within the Onshore wind team, you will join the Operations Support team. You and your team, aim to optimize the operation and management of all Vattenfall’s onshore wind farms across countries.
You will join a new team, created to further optimize the onshore wind farm operations. We are looking for six new team members to build up this team, of which one Senior Technical Support Engineer.
What will you do?
As our Senior Technical Support Engineer you will focus on technical support and O&M projects for our Onshore Wind assets. You also support assets by proactively improving the WTG long-term reliability. The focus is on assets in “full-control”, but we support other Onshore assets where needed.
Overall purpose of your role:
Vattenfall is now looking for senior professional to fill the position of Sr. Technical Support Engineer in Business Unit Onshore Wind, within the Operations Support team, part of Operations. Operations is the department responsible to optimise the operation and management of assets. Operations Support is a new team being set-up and works closely with colleagues from O&M, Engineering and Asset Management.
Your activities will be to:
- Provide technical support across our Onshore fleet. Supporting the other colleagues in the team.
- Manage O&M projects in coordination with sites and central functions (procurement / commercial management), e.g. coordinate major component exchanges with OEMs, implement new tools;
- Proactively identify opportunities for e.g. WTG upgrades, refurbishment initiatives or new tools;
- Drive reliability improvements and maintenance strategy updates. Analytical / data-driven support on failure rate assessments, in collaboration with Asset Management;
- Work closely together with the multi-disciplinary Platforms group (VETs) and Engineering colleagues to discuss the status and prioritisation of support tickets and O&M projects;
- Capture learnings from troubleshooting (including from OEM) and share across the sites.
Location:
You can choose to be based in one of our following offices: Hamburg, Amsterdam, Alkmaar, Kolding, Aalborg, London, Cardiff, Stockholm or Falkenberg. Some travelling between these occasions (6/8 time per year) will be required. We offer hybrid working. We only consider candidates already living and working close to one of the above location.
Qualifications

Furthermore you will bring:
- Bachelor or master’s degree in a relevant field (is desirable);
- At least 8 years of experience from working a similar position in the energy sector or a technical industry. Offshore/onshore wind knowledge from an O&M role is desired;
- Experienced in project management. A certification in Project management is advantageous;
- Experience with Reliability engineering tools and techniques is advantageous;
- Having experience with the SGRE D3 platform or Nordex Delta platform would be advantageous;
- Since we work across several countries, good command of the English language (both verbally and written). Command in Danish, Swedish or Dutch is an advantage;
- Strong communication skills, comfortable at presenting, building relationships and influencing others, while working effectively across different cultures and geographical locations.
