Under general direction, prepares accounting entries and financial reporting in accordance with Statutory, US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (US GAAP), and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS). Completes regulatory filings related to non-life subsidiaries. Prepares entries relating primarily to fee income and deferred costs. Supports financial reporting teams by providing fee income summaries and deferred cost roll forwards.
What you will do:
- Responsible for the recording and maintenance of fee income journal entries. This includes analysis of data to identify anomalies and possible errors in the financial data.
- Responsible for continual evaluation of processes and process improvement.
- Coordinates with line of business leaders to ensure that changes in their business are captured appropriately in the financial statements.
- Responsible for understanding and completing all tasks associated with the deferred cost calculations.
- Responsible for general ledger account reconciliations.
- Prepares regulatory reporting for subsidiary entities.
- Responsible for recording the intercompany transactions and completing the analytical review of the individual non-life subsidiaries income statements to ensure that the quarterly statements are complete and accurate.
- Supports implementation and operationalization of technical accounting policies and procedures under the guidance of their manager.
- May train and mentor the work of accountants in the department.
- Other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, related field, or equivalent experience.
What you will bring:
- Two (2) to four (4) years relevant accounting or business analysis experience.
- Public accounting experience preferred
- CPA license preferred
- Intermediate MS Office skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent problem-solving skills
