Join our dynamic Conferences & Events team as a Summer Operations Assistant, where you’ll play a key role in creating a smooth, welcoming, and memorable experience for our summer guests.
Reporting to the Director of Conferences & Events and working closely with the Associate Vice President, you’ll serve as a vital point of contact and problem-solver throughout the summer season. Your ability to stay organized, communicate effectively, and think on your feet will help ensure that every group and guest enjoys a seamless visit from start to finish.
Key responsibilities include:
- Acting as a first point of contact by managing the main phone line with professionalism and efficiency.
- Logging and tracking guest concerns or operational issues in a project management platform and collaborating with campus partners to ensure timely resolutions.
- Assisting with group check-ins by distributing key packets, providing directions, and ensuring guests are set up for a smooth arrival.
- Representing the department with a high level of customer service, ensuring every interaction is helpful, responsive, and courteous.

Training: Monday May 18, 2025 – Friday, May 23, 2025
Employment Dates: Monday, May 18, 2025, to Friday, August 1, 2025. This position will be mostly nights and weekends, but may require early mornings or late nights for event coverage. Schedule will vary each week with days off usually occurring on weekdays. Weekend and holiday work is regularly required. About the Department:Quinnipiac University Conferences & Events is a new department that provides support in the planning and execution of conferences, events and summer programs on campus. Summer Benefits:This position is 20-30 hours per week including the following benefits:
- $16.35 per hour.
- Free on-campus housing in a single room in a shared suite, which has an in-suite bathroom and kitchen.
- On-campus housing will only be available May 18 – August 1. Housing will not be provided outside of those dates.
- Staff are responsible for providing their own meals but can access the dining hall when it is open.
- To be eligible to receive the room and board benefits, candidates must be available to work over 15 hours a week.
- Free on-site parking.
Administrative/Office Operations
- Provide front desk coverage and receive inquiries from clients and campus partners via email, phone or in our project management platform.
- Check participants in and out of the housing database, make any necessary room changes
- Follow up and help resolve open support tickets with staff and service providers.
