SUMMARY OF POSITION
The Service Project Coordinator plays a key role in delivering exceptional service to K–12 and higher education clients by providing expert on-site furniture repairs and coordinating service needs in partnership with Project Managers and vendors. This position is essential in supporting Meteor Education’s mission of transforming learning environments into engaging, collaborative spaces that inspire students and educators alike.
This hands-on, field-based role combines technical repair expertise with project coordination, customer relationship management, and ERP workflow administration. The ideal candidate enjoys problem-solving, thrives on working independently, and values the opportunity to represent a purpose-driven company at client sites across multiple locations.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Field Coordination & Client Engagement:
- Serve as the on-site liaison between Meteor Education and school clients, effectively communicating repair timelines, status updates, and service expectations.
- Provide proactive updates to internal Project Managers, keeping them informed on job progress, obstacles, and completion timing.
- Ensure professional and courteous interactions with educators, administrators, and facilities personnel during each service visit.
Project & Systems Management:
- Utilize Meteor Education’s ERP system and third-party platforms (e.g., Facilitron) to manage the service process from initiation through completion.
- Accurately document all service activities, including before-and-after photos, detailed repair notes, and itemized part replacements.
- Assist in sourcing, ordering, and tracking replacement parts or hardware through approved vendor channels, ensuring timely job completion.
Operational Excellence:
- Coordinate and complete daily service trips across multiple client locations; overnight travel may be required based on project needs and geographic region.
- Independently manage time, routes, and client schedules to ensure efficiency and exceptional customer service.
- Participate in company-provided training programs within the first 30 days and develop ongoing proficiency with internal systems, repair procedures, and customer experience standards.
Quality Assurance:
- Diagnose, assess, and repair a variety of furniture issues, including surface damage (scratches, dents), mechanical failures (broken parts, loose components), and upholstery concerns.
- Perform high-quality on-site repairs using appropriate tools, techniques, and materials, ensuring workmanship aligns with company standards and client expectations.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment while adhering to all company and site safety protocols.
Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS
- 2–5 years of experience in furniture repair, field service, facilities support, or a related technical/operations field.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on experience with basic repair tools and techniques.
- Proven ability to work independently while managing multiple service requests across varied locations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a customer-first mindset.
- Strong organizational and documentation skills; attention to detail is a must.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and comfort using ERP platforms.
- Valid driver’s license with clean driving record; ability and willingness to travel frequently, including overnight stays.
