The ideal candidate will be passionate about sustainability, brand and C-suite executive storytelling and communications. As the Director, of Corporate Communications you will be responsible for pitching media, developing and executing corporate communications strategies for BPCM's clients, driving the company's corporate and sustainability initiatives, and fostering an inclusive environment that promotes diversity and talent.

A Day In The Life:
Media pitching
- Have a strong understanding of the media landscape, media/marketing trends and be adept in the development of comprehensive media strategies.
- Support clients’ current PR strategy, specific corporate communications/business remits
- Based on client objectives, proactively seek, pitch and secure high-level features business features across national print, digital and broadcast media
- Develop a spokesperson key messaging document in advance of interviews
Client Communications
- Serve as the lead for accounts, developing and implementing corporate communications strategies, leading strategy sessions, and maintaining successful client relationships.
- Regularly monitor media outlets for relevant pitching opportunities to BPCM account leads, including short and long-lead news outlets, podcasts, conferences/speaking engagements and more.
- Raise client awareness, focusing on executive and/or brand, on a national level by crafting a compelling narrative.
- Provide strategic direction to clients on planning, initiatives, partnerships, activations, and overall positioning
- Manage crisis communication plans and response strategies.
- Drafting press releases, media pitches, fact sheets and FAQs to support sustainability and corporate communications strategies.
- Provide counsel and guidance to clients on corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives.
- Proactively bring thought leadership and trends to both the agency and clients.
- Collaborate with teams across BPCM to ensure all communications align with the company's CSR and sustainability goals.
- Guide and manage junior staff members in day-to-day client activity, including administrative duties such are project tracking and reporting.
- Ability to grow deep relationships with top-tier media and secure feature coverage across multiple verticals.
- Collaborate to grow existing and new business opportunities, responding to internal and pro-active external prospects.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in communications, public relations, journalism or a related field
- 8+ years of PR pitching and media experience in corporate communications, public relations, or related fields preferably in an agency environment.
- A deep understanding of the sustainability landscape and emerging global trends a plus
- Established editorial relationships with key media and influencers across fashion, sustainability, finance, tech and business.
- Experience working with Fortune 500 or other large corporate clients.
- Demonstrated success in developing media relations and executing effective communication strategies and crisis communication plans.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate complex ideas clearly and concisely
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to build and motivate a team
- Knowledge of current trends and best practices in public relations and communications.
- Comfortable working across a variety of industries and clients, from material science and biotechnology to luxury fashion
Location: This role is based in our Brooklyn, NY office on a hybrid basis. This role is required in the office a minimum of 2 days per week.
The anticipated salary range for this position is $110,000 - $125,000. Actual compensation is based on a range of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and location.
