About The Opportunity

This person must be a Maintenance Technician III or higher and have a good understanding of the converting process, machine repairs and troubleshooting. This position is responsible for directing the team, acting as a technical resource for repairs and troubleshooting, implementing processes, and leading root cause investigations to help drive equipment efficiency. This position will create and promote an inclusive and innovative team environment.

Essential Functions:

  • Ensure team members comply with all appropriate safety procedures and use PPE appropriately; ensure safe work environment by eliminating potential equipment safety hazards
  • Provide instruction and direction regarding the routine execution of repairs to ensure compliance with plant reliability strategies, standards and practices
  • Follow up on completed tasks and/or work orders
  • Identify, order and track parts and supplies needed for equipment repairs
  • Support production by identifying and reviewing failures, downtime and lost production and partners with more senior team members to identify opportunities to improve reliability and/or determine acceptable risk tolerance
  • Effectively communicate with operations, quality, and scheduling regarding equipment break downs and estimated repair timelines
  • Actively participate in lean manufacturing initiatives
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management/supervisors

1. Safety sensitive position - ability to work in a constant state of alertness and a safe manner

2. Ability to work overtime and weekends as required based upon the needs of the business

3. Ability to work on a rotating shift as needed

4. Ability to effectively work in teams

5. Ability to work in a production-based environment with moving equipment and people

6. Ability to interact and communicate effectively with a wide variety of roles

7. Ability to read a tape measure/ruler

8. Good mathematical skills

9. Ability to read blueprints

10. Ability to read electrical prints

11. Mechanical troubleshooting skills

12. Ability to operate various tools such as drill, saw, mill, grinder, and welder
