Position Overview

The Capital Development Board is looking to hire an Administrative Assistant II to work as staff assistant to the Administrator of Construction Division for CDB.  This position is in a fast-paced division and will handle a variety of assignments.  The ideal candidate must be able to work independently and have strong communication and organizational skills.

Essential Functions

  • Under administrative direction, functions as staff assistant to the Construction Administrator.
  • Conducts controversial investigations of problems and advises the Constructions Administrator of administrative problems related to on-going construction projects.
  • Serves as liaison in representing the Construction Administrator in meetings with construction companies' representative, Agency staff and the public.
  • Serves as training coordinator for the Construction division and coordinates the Contractor, Architecture and Engineer (A/E) training program.
  • Serves as primary contact for information technology equipment, software access and technical problems.
  • Coordinates travel arrangements for Construction staff.
  • Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Requires knowledge, skill and mental development equivalent to the completion of four (4) years of college, preferably with courses in public or business administration.
  • Requires two (2) years of professional experience in a public or private organization.

Preferred Qualifications

 

  • Prefers two (2) years' experience working in construction environment.
  • Prefers working knowledge to independently review and compile reports and statistics.
  • Prefers working knowledge in the Microsoft Office suite, including Outlook, Word and Excel, or similar programs.
