Job Summary:

 The Sr. Director, Chief of Staff for Consumer Engineering at PayPal will play a pivotal role in driving the strategic initiatives and operational excellence of the Consumer Engineering team. We are looking for a highly driven, self-motivated individual to work closely with the Consumer Engineering leadership team as well as cross functionally across the CTO to drive alignment with the organization’s vision and goals. The role requires a blend of technical expertise, strategic thinking, and leadership skills to manage and optimize engineering processes and deliver high-quality consumer products. The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical background, exceptional leadership skills, and the ability to manage complex projects and cross-functional teams. 

Job Description:

Key Responsibilities: 

• Strategic Planning, Alignment and Execution: 
  • Collaborate with the Consumer Engineering senior leadership to execute the engineering strategy. 
  • Ensure alignment of engineering initiatives with PayPal’s business goals to drive the execution of key initiatives and projects.  
  • Monitor industry trends and emerging technologies to inform strategic decisions and innovation. 
• Operational Excellence: 
  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the Consumer Engineering team and ensure efficiency and productivity. 
  • Implement and refine processes to enhance operational effectiveness & project delivery.  
  • Track and report on key performance metrics and project milestones. 
• Leadership and Team Management: 
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing business operations & workforce planning team. 
  • Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement. 
  • Manage resource allocation, project prioritization and team performance. 
• Stakeholder Management: 
  • Act as a liaison between the engineering team and other departments across PayPal, including Technology, product management, marketing, and sales. 
  • Communicate progress, challenges, and opportunities to senior leadership and stakeholders. 
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key partners and vendors.
