Executive Director, Architecture and Technology

Superlanet is seeking an Executive Director of Architecture & Technology for a Midwestern-based healthcare organization. The Executive Director, Architecture & Technology serves as the client’s senior leader for enterprise architecture, platform strategy, product management, and technology portfolio planning. This role is responsible for shaping and governing a cohesive, future-ready technology ecosystem that spans clinical care, research, digital engagement, and administrative operations.

This leader ensures architectural integrity across major enterprise platforms and initiatives, champions portfolio and investment discipline, and drives technology readiness for the organization’s next phase of growth - including the new specialty hospital. Success in this role requires strategic vision, operational rigor, and the ability to influence across a complex, matrixed academic health system. 

Key Responsibilities

• Lead enterprise and solution architecture across major platforms and initiatives

• Define multi-year technology roadmaps and platform strategies

• Translate organizational strategy into product visions and executable roadmaps

• Oversee technology intake, prioritization, and portfolio governance

• Partner with research teams on informatics integration and data governance

• Guide technology investment planning and vendor strategy

• Build and lead high-performing architecture, product, and program teams

Ideal Candidate

• Senior technology and architecture leader with enterprise-scale experience

• Proven success leading multi-year healthcare or complex enterprise transformations

• Strong executive presence with the ability to influence in matrixed environments

• Deep expertise in architecture, platform strategy, and portfolio management

Qualifications

Minimum

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field

• 10+ years of progressive leadership experience

• 5+ years in architecture, technology strategy, or platform leadership

• Experience delivering transformational technology initiatives in complex environments

Preferred

• Master’s degree

• Healthcare, hospital, academic medicine, or research technology experience
