Job Description:

Summary/Objective

The Program Coordinator in the Office of Career Development (OCD) in the School of International Service (SIS) supports the career development of approximately 2,000 undergraduate and graduate students by providing primary program and event support, and managing office communications, social media, website management, and marketing.

Essential Functions

1. Program Support: This position is responsible for the oversight of the day-to-day operations of the activities associated with SIS Office of Career Development, including providing support for administrative needs, programming, and outreach to students, alumni, and other stakeholders. This includes:

  • General office operations: Respond to student, faculty, staff, and external emails and phone calls to main office inbox and voicemail; manage SIScareer Outlook calendar with team programming and regular meetings; maintain and purchase office supplies (or secure those available from HUB); manage details for team celebrations including staff birthdays, restaurant reservations, and other logistics.

  • Collection and communication of key data regularly: Assist Director of Career Education and Employer Relations in collecting, analyzing where possible, and presenting back key themes of data monthly from our programming and advising in Handshake, reporting on who we are reaching and who we are missing, and where we’ve been successful and where we can improve, especially in relation to graduation outcomes and engagement. As needed, run data reports in Business Intelligence (BI)

  • Office information systems: Keep shared file folders and digital record keeping organized, maintaining accurate information so it is readily and easily available for all team members to access.

  • Strong relationships with partners: Maintain collaborative relationships with a variety of stakeholders across SIS (including SIS Departments, Academic Advising (undergraduate and graduate), International Programs, Online Programs, Graduate Admissions, Undergraduate Programs, and more), and AU (including AU Career Center, Kogod Office of Career Engagement, Washington College of Law Office of Career Engagement and Professional Development, and more) to support programs and maximize career development opportunities for SIS students.
