THIS POSITION LOCATED IN KNOXVILLE, TENNESSEE.

The GME Program Manager 1 serves as the Medical Student and Fellowship Coordinator for the Department of Family Medicine. As the Medical Student Coordinator, this position is responsible for administrative duties for students in the various rotations of Family Medicine, Sports Medicine, and Hospice and Palliative Care. As the GME Program Manager 1, this position is responsible for the administrative duties for Emergency Medicine, Sports Medicine, and Hospice and Palliative Care fellowships. 

  1. Manages the day-to-day operations of the fellowship programs; prepares and collects evaluations for the fellowship programs.
  2. Compiles, distributes, and maintains the monthly schedules for the fellows.
  3. Maintains ERAS (Electronic Residency Application System) and NRMP (National Resident Matching Program) databases during the fellowship recruitment season.
  4. Coordinates the orientation process with the College of Medicine.
  5. Meets regularly with the Clerkship, Assistant Clerkship Directors, and Course Directors.
  6. Performs all match responsibilities and corresponds with newly matched residents and requirements, orientation, schedules and hiring process.
  7. Creates daily clinical schedules for students and prepares handbooks, activity calendars, and lecture schedules for all students.
  8. Schedules faculty for medical student lectures.
  9. Ensures student completion of tasks and ensures adherence/compliance to UT Health Sciences policies for faculty, residents, and students.
  10. Performs other related duties assigned.          

EDUCATION: Bachelor’s Degree. (TRANSCRIPT REQUIRED)

EXPERIENCE: Two (2) years of experience with accreditation or database management or customer service in an education or medical institution; OR a combination of college coursework and related work experience to equal six (6) years. 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Recognize and support the mission of the Department of Family Medicine.
  • Computer knowledge of Microsoft Office to include Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to provide good customer support to students, faculty, and staff.
  • Ability to demonstrate strong interpersonal skills, professionalism, and communication skills in working with others.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to plan, organize and schedule.  
  • Ability to multitask and manage multiple activities at a time.
  • Ability to adapt to change and learn new skills.
