Scheduler Materials Planner

OVERVIEW

We’re currently seeking a passionate and enthusiastic Scheduler Materials Planner to join our growing team.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

The Scheduler & Material Planner manages production scheduling and material planning for the manufacturing plant. This role ensures material availability, optimizes inventory levels, builds supplier relationships, and negotiates contracts to meet operational and cost objectives. Expertise in SAP systems, strong organizational skills, and balancing scheduling with procurement efficiency are essential.

 

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain production schedules aligned with manufacturing goals.
• Monitor production progress and adjust schedules to address delays, material shortages, or demand changes.
• Use SAP for Material Requirement Planning (MRP) to ensure timely availability of raw materials and sweeteners.
• Collaborate with production, procurement, and logistics teams to streamline material flow.
• Maintain optimal inventory levels, prevent stockouts, and minimize waste and storage costs.
• Conduct cycle counts and audits to ensure inventory accuracy.
• Source and procure raw materials, sweeteners, and packaging to meet schedules.
• Negotiate pricing, delivery terms, and contracts with suppliers for cost optimization.
• Evaluate supplier performance and compliance with quality and delivery standards.
• Manage vendor relationships to support partnerships and continuous improvement.
• Analyze material costs and track budgets to identify savings opportunities.
• Prepare cost estimates and forecasts for financial planning.
• Ensure contract compliance, including delivery schedules and supplier performance metrics.
• Serve as a liaison between production, procurement, quality, and logistics teams.
• Communicate schedule changes, material updates, or supplier issues to stakeholders.
• Participate in initiatives to improve supply chain efficiency and reduce downtime.
• Support Integrated Business Planning (IBP) activities and dashboard updates.

WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or equivalent, related experience required.
• Certification in Supply Chain Management (e.g., APICS, CSCP) or Lean Six Sigma preferred.
• 3+ years of experience in scheduling, material planning, or procurement in a manufacturing environment.
• Hands-on expertise with SAP systems, including MRP and costing modules.
• Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and data analysis.
• In-depth understanding of supply chain principles, inventory management, and procurement best practices.
• Must be detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills.
• Physical ability to inspect materials and inventory as needed.
