Job Description:
The North Central IPM Center is looking for a creative and results-driven Marketing Specialist II to join our team. The North Central Integrated Pest Management (IPM) Center works to bring people together and provide essential resources to address the region’s critical pest problems. As one of four regional centers funded by the USDA National Institute of Food and Agriculture (NIFA), the North Central IPM Center promotes and facilitates the adoption of effective integrated pest management strategies. Serving as the hub for multi-state partnerships and communication networks, the Center connects researchers, farmers, extension educators, commodity organizations, environmental groups, pest control professionals, government agencies, and others across the 12-state North Central region of the continental United States.
In this role, you will focus on developing and implementing strategic marketing initiatives while researching and writing compelling success stories and statements for key stakeholders, including funding agencies, legislators, and university administration. You will play a crucial part in communicating the Center's science-based insect, plant disease, and weed management initiatives to a wide audience. Your work will help translate complex scientific topics into clear, actionable messaging that engages and informs stakeholders, from local communities to policymakers. By promoting the Center's mission to reduce risks to people, the food supply, and the environment, you will support efforts to unite stakeholders, share valuable resources, and implement innovative pest management strategies. Your marketing expertise will ensure that the Center’s message resonates and contributes to solving the North Central region’s most pressing pest challenges.
This is an exciting, brand-new position that offers the freedom to shape its direction and make a lasting impact. You'll have the creative flexibility to take this role where you think it should go, allowing you to innovate and develop marketing strategies that highlight the Center's successes in pest management. With a clear need for this role, you'll have the opportunity to tell compelling stories about the important work we’re doing, showcasing the positive effects of integrated pest management on communities, agriculture, and the environment. You'll be part of a supportive, collaborative team that values your marketing expertise and will rely on you to ensure that our message resonates and garners the attention it deserves. This is your chance to create something new, have fun with it, and help us share our successes with the world!
