Position Summary
As a Business Development Manager, you will help manage and support client, business development and marketing efforts for the Americas Debt Finance Regional Section. Your role will require you to work with business development managers, partners and lawyers to support the on-going business and practice development activities of the Americas Debt Finance Regional Section, focusing on strategic initiatives, client development, market positioning and brand recognition.
Although based in New York, the role will have a significant US domestic and international dimension to it due to the Firm’s multiple US offices and global network.
Duties and Accountabilities
Primary responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
Strategy and Business Design
- Work with the Americas Debt Finance Business Development team and partners to help drive the development and implementation of the the Americas Regional Section business plan, associated marketing plans and identified key initiatives
- Lead on the development and implementation of the associated marketing plans and identified key initiatives for one/two of the Debt Finance pillar groups (Borrower Finance, Private Credit, Bank Lending and Specialty Finance)
- Assist in the integration of lawyer new joiners
- Liaise and work with other Section and Industry BD teams on joint marketing and BD initiatives
Client Development
- Lead on the preparation of domestic and cross-border pitches, proposals, capability statements, and presentations materials
- Support the development of priority Debt Finance client relationships, including the design and execution of client action plans
- Co-ordinate client, market, sector and decision-maker research and analysis as required
Brand Recognition
- Develop and maintain marketing collateral, including placemats, brochures, experience statements, key selling messages, presentations, transaction lists, external website and intranet content and lawyer biographies, ensuring materials are always up-to-date, well-written, contain compelling and consistent messages
- Contribute to league table and legal directory submissions
- Manage award and ranking opportunities and make recommendations. Lead on drafting the related submissions
- Support thought leadership efforts by monitoring trends and hot topics; and assist with the distribution of thought leadership pieces
- Assess the value, relevance and cost/benefits of profile-raising opportunities (including sponsorship and speaking slots) to ensure maximum benefit is realized from each such opportunity
