About the role

Printpack has an immediate opening for a  Plant Controller  in Grand Prairie, Texas. This position is responsible for leading the Grand Prairie  converting plant finance/accounting activities and reports to a Finance Director. The Plant Controller in Grand Prairie, TX requires full-time onsite work at the Grand Prairie facility.

Minimum Requirements: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting 

  • 7 to 10 years of job-related work experience 

Preferred Experience & Skills: 

  • Public Accounting (Audit) / Manufacturing background 

  • Experience working with large ERP systems; JD Edwards experience is a plus 

  • Solid cost accounting experience with extensive/complex product lines

  • CPA, MBA, MACC - all a plus 

  • Proven track record of leading and influencing others 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • This position requires working onsite in the Grand Prairie facilityProactively manage plant accounting functions, to include oversight of accounting personnel, inventory valuations, manufacturing cost accounting, reporting/analysis and forecasting/budgeting 

  • Protect plant assets through the development and monitoring of internal controls 

  • Oversee the development and maintenance of inventory and operational performance standards 

  • Manage the monthly financial closing process, preparation and review of financial statements, and analysis of variances vs. forecast, standard, and budget 

  • Ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial statements, inventories and customer/product profitability reporting 

  • Provide financial analysis to support business decisions regarding investments in capital equipment and plant process improvements

  • Exhibit strong working knowledge of financial concepts, operational systems and analytical tools 

  • Demonstrate strong leadership presence in production and business decision-making, along with the ability to positively influence and interpret operational results 

  • Effectively communicate and interact with all levels and functions of the organization
