We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Senior Facilities Manager to lead the facilities management team at the Balltown Road campus of GE Vernova’s Advanced Research Center (ARC). This role will shape the physical and operational future of our new, state-of-the-art campus. The successful candidate will have a strong background in industrial facilities management, project management, and environmental health and safety (EHS). The Senior Facilities Manager will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the facilities, managing capital projects, and ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and standards.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

Facilities Operations:

  • Oversee the maintenance, repair, and operation of all facilities, including mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.

  • Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs to ensure optimal facility performance and minimize downtime.

  • Manage facilities budgets, including forecasting, budgeting, and cost control.

Project Management:

  • Support campus mater planning activities setting up the future vision of the ARC.

  • Lead elements of campus planning from concept through construction hand-off

  • Manage enabling research projects from conception to completion, including planning, design, construction, and commissioning.

  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders, including researchers, engineers, and other facilities team members, to ensure project deliverables meet requirements and expectations.

  • Develop and manage project schedules, budgets, and resource allocation plans.

Environmental Health and Safety (EHS):

  • Conduct regular EHS audits and inspections to identify and mitigate potential hazards.

  • Ensure compliance with all relevant EHS regulations, including OSHA, EPA, and local ordinances.

Team Management:

  • Supervise and mentor a team of facilities professionals, including maintenance technicians, engineers, and administrative staff.

  • Develop and implement training programs to enhance team skills and knowledge.

  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and customer satisfaction.

Strategic Planning:

  • Develop and implement long-term facilities plans, including master planning, space planning, and infrastructure development.

  • Collaborate with senior leadership to align facilities strategies with business objectives and goals.

  • Identify and pursue opportunities for cost savings, energy efficiency, and sustainability.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, or a related field with a minimum of 10 years of experience in industrial facilities management, including 5 years in a senior leadership role.

  • Proven track record of managing complex facilities, including maintenance, repair, and operations.

  • Experience with project management, including capital projects and construction management.

  • Demonstrated ability to guide building or campus development, including partnerships with general contractors, trade contractors, and governmental agencies.

  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required; we will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job opening

  • Must be willing to work out of an office located in Niskayuna, NY.
