The Role
Reporting to the Vice President, Operational Excellence, you will be proving exemplary customer service to our clients by ensuring the competencies of Par employee meets and exceeds the expectations of the Par Executive Leadership Team. As part of your specific responsibilities, in the following areas, you will:
- Develop and manage project plans for human performance improvement initiatives within Par, including Par’s leadership, technical, and job specific needs.
- Identify and prioritize the internal and external resources required to complete performance improvement initiatives
- Identify, develop, and implement learning systems to further development objectives.
- Oversee the delivery of learn and development activities at the various Par locations.
- Develop the initial audit protocol that will be used to monitor the effectiveness of site training programs.
- Recommend specific KPIs for the program to the Refining and Logistics Leadership team.
- Track the progress of performance improvement initiatives against predefined KPIs and report KPI data to the Refining and Logistics Leadership Team.
- Manage and report progress on the Learning and Development budget to the Refining and Logistics Leadership Team on a regular basis.
- Oversee the overall quality of Par training site programs.

The Requirements
To meet the basic qualification for this role, you will have legal authorization to work permanently in the United States for any employer without requiring a visa transfer or visa sponsorship. To be a good fit for the Director of Learning and Development opportunity, you will have:
- High School Diploma
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university
- A minimum of 12 years of adult learning and development experience
- A minimum of 8 Years of Refinery / manufacturing / union environment experience
- A minimum of 3 years successful experience in managing a department with direct reports required, including budget responsibility.
- Demonstrated proficiency and knowledge in software systems management.
- Strong working knowledge of MS Office Suite, Visio, Photo Editing, Learning Management Systems.
- Highly developed business writing and verbal communications skills
- Highly self motivated and passionate about learning and skill development.
- Strict attention to detail.
- Flexible and adaptable
- Demonstrated strong work ethic
- Entrepreneurial energy
- Ability to work independently and as a strong team member with the different stakeholders
- Comfort with ambiguity and strong change management skills
- Proven ability to work effectively with multiple levels and titles within the Par organization.
