About the role

The Phlebotomist I is responsible for receiving orders for laboratory testing from the hospital computer system, collecting blood from patients of any age or status, and logging specimens into the laboratory computer system. This individual follows state, OSHA and other agency regulations. The Phlebotomist performs special procedures and assists the lab aide when necessary.

 

Qualifications:

A. Education

1. High school diploma or GED from an accredited institute required
2. Completion of a phlebotomy program of study preferred

B. Experience

1. Prior experience as a Phlebotomist preferred

C. Licensure

1. Certified as a Phlebotomist from a nationally recognized institute preferred
