What You Will Do
The West Palm Beach Development Operations organization of Pratt & Whitney is looking for an Assembly Process Engineer responsible for creating and approving Assembly Instructions, improving assembly processes per lessons learned, troubleshooting engine assembly issues and mentoring other Process Engineers. The Process Engineer must demonstrate strong leadership, communication, and team skills as well as an ability to multi-task and adapt to changing business requirements. The Process Engineer develops, implements, and drives new technologies and lean manufacturing techniques into the assembly processes. The Process Engineer develops the skills necessary to independently support cross-disciplinary and cross-functional assembly teams. Support and training opportunities are always available for the pro-active employee in a culture that stimulates continuous learning.
Create and approve Assembly Process Instructions to meet validation / certification requirements for commercial and military Development Engines.
Support the Assembly Floor by driving the implementation of Assembly Instructions and troubleshooting any issues that may be stopping the Engine from being built
Drive the development and implementation of new and robust processes needed to ensure production readiness.
Consistently work to improve technical proficiency while mentoring peers to improve their own proficiency.
Review Bill of Materials (BOM) to identify needed changes to engineering definition and/or work instructions.
Participate in continuous improvement activities (QCPC, PITS, DIVEs, MES, etc.) intended to improve / simplify the assembly processes.
Travel up to 10%.
Qualifications You Must Have
Bachelor Degree in Engineering
5 years of experience, or an Advanced Degree with 3 years of experience
Qualifications We Prefer
Experience Reviewing & Approving Assembly Work Instructions
Experience Reviewing & Approving Engineering Product Definition
Proficient in Teamcenter, NX, Solumina & SAP
Current security clearance
