Job Description
The Payment Fraud Disruption (PFD) Strategy & Operations Director will be responsible for developing PFD's holistic strategy and operational framework while leading optimization initiatives that enable the organization to operate efficiently. The role will be responsible for ensuring alignment across the different PFD functions with the overall strategic objectives. This role will sit on the PFD Leadership Team and work closely with the team to drive forward strategic projects initiatives. This role will ensure that all work requests are executed promptly, overseeing the management, implementation, and delivery of internal and external projects.
Responsibilities
- Formulate an organization-wide strategy by working cross-functionally across the PFD organization, as well as with the broader risk, product, and technology teams
- Synthesize the organization's strategic risk objectives, industry trends, and client/ecosystem needs to identify and formulate a risk vision that can achieve the organization’s risk agenda
- Partner closely with the PFD leadership team to establish strategic plans and develop priorities focused on expanding our competitive advantage, enhancing relationships with key stakeholders, and driving adoption of PFD capabilities and solutions
- Design and implement the processes and programs that will address strategic risk challenges facing the organization and broader payments ecosystem to improve our differentiation while enhancing the security of the payments ecosystem
- Evaluate market opportunities for new risk capabilities, proactively forecast ecosystem needs and develop strategy that identifies and addresses existing gaps in our risk portfolio to drive cross-functional prioritization
- Assess the effectiveness of our various risk initiatives and make recommendations that optimize the organization’s business objectives and resource allocation
- Develop internal and external communications, including speeches, presentations, and online collateral in partnership with communications and strategy teams.
- Support the preparation and compilation of PFD materials for various Visa Risk committees and meetings (e.g., ORS, CRC, etc.)
- Ensure that tasks, projects and initiatives developed and owned by PFD are progressing, assigned to the right owners within the organization, and have the right level of reporting and visibility.
- Mange internal projects ensuring efficient workflow to completion. These may range from ensuring that project actions are acted upon to managing correspondence and handling requests for information or action from PFD.
- Develop materials for meetings with Visa regulators and Board of Directors
- Lead project management and/or development for key processes, such as the annual budgeting cycle
- Partner across the organization to create a feedback loop on the organization’s needs and develop plan to address them
This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
- 10 or more years of work experience with a bachelor’s degree or at least 8 years of work experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g., Masters/ MBA/JD/MD) or at least 3 years of work experience with a PhD.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 12 or more years of work experience with a bachelor’s degree or 8-10 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 6+ years of work experience with a PhD.
- Experience at leading management consulting firm and/or within a top-tier internal strategy group.
- Experience operating in an agile environment, embracing change and ambiguity in an ecosystem that is rapidly evolving.
- Strong interpersonal, leadership, and communication skills (both oral and written, plus high proficiency in developing compelling narratives in PowerPoint).
