Are you an aspiring electrical engineering student seeking an exciting opportunity in the aerospace industry? Look no further! Collins Aerospace in Melbourne, FL is actively looking for a student to join our Avionics Communication, Navigation, and Surveillance Hardware department as an intern. As part of our team, you will be involved in designing, verifying, and qualifying Communication and advanced Navigation hardware. This role may be eligible for relocation.

What You Will Do:

  • Will assist in researching, developing, designing, and testing electrical components, equipment, systems, and networks as well as resolving day-to-day technical problems by troubleshooting electrical devices problems on the production line.
  • Completes drawing designs as required, operates engineering software and equipment, and confers with stakeholders regarding engineering projects. 
  • Performs engineering work and applied research, development, and design for new products to ensure quality standards and functional objectives are met. 

What You Will Learn:

  • You will gain knowledge about designing electrical equipment, facilities, components, products, and systems for commercial, industrial, and domestic purposes. 
  • You will gain knowledge in analyzing and evaluating new or improved electronic components. Includes power generation, transmission and distribution, rotating machinery, illumination, wire communication systems and servomechanisms. 

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and student must be pursuing a Bachelor’s or advanced degree in an applicable discipline.

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Displays experience using test equipment such as Analyzers, Oscilloscopes, Power Meters.
  • Displays experience using MatLab, C, C+, Excel, JavaScript.
  • Displays experience using eCAD Tools and Electronic design and simulation tools.
  • Proficient knowledge using Microsoft Office products.
