Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Benefits Specialist to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a robust background in benefits administration and retirement plans, coupled with exceptional analytical skills. This role involves analyzing and administering various employee benefits programs, including health, dental, vision, retirement plans, and other related benefits. The Benefits Specialist will ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, provide insightful data analysis, and support the development and implementation of benefits strategies that align with our organizational goals.

Your role in our mission

  • Administer and manage employee benefits programs, including health, dental, vision, life insurance, disability, FSA, HSA, and other voluntary benefits.
  • Oversee the enrollment, changes, and termination processes for benefits plans.
  • Coordinate with benefits vendors and providers to ensure smooth operations and resolve any issues.
  • Administer and manage 401(k) and other retirement plans, ensuring compliance with ERISA and other regulatory requirements.
  • Assist employees with retirement plan inquiries, including enrollment, contributions, distributions, and rollovers.
  • Conduct regular audits of retirement plan data to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Conduct detailed analysis of benefits data to identify trends, cost-saving opportunities, and areas for improvement.
  • Prepare and present reports on benefits utilization, cost analysis, and benchmarking against industry standards.
  • Monitor and analyze legislative and regulatory changes affecting employee benefits and retirement plans.
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations related to employee benefits and retirement plans.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation for all benefits programs and processes.
  • Prepare and file required regulatory reports, such as 5500 filings and non-discrimination testing.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to employees by addressing benefits and retirement-related inquiries and issues.
  • Develop and deliver employee communication materials, including benefits guides, newsletters, and training sessions.
  • Conduct benefits orientation and education sessions for new hires and during open enrollment periods.
  • Support the development and implementation of benefits strategies that enhance employee satisfaction and retention.
  • Collaborate with HR, finance, and other departments to ensure alignment of benefits programs with organizational goals.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of benefits administration.

What we're looking for

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in benefits administration and retirement plan management.
  • Strong knowledge of ERISA, ACA, HIPAA, COBRA, and other relevant regulations.
  • Proficiency in benefits administration systems and HRIS.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make data-driven decisions.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Professional certification (e.g., CEBS, PHR, SHRM-CP) is a plus.
