Job Description
We are looking for a Senior Vice President within Editorial Development to join the team. This role will be responsible for developing a commercial publishing strategy in the US and new growth markets, the VP Editorial Development will drive regional content acquisition and build partnerships with funders, senior academics and Key Opinion Leaders regionally, to help position Taylor & Francis as a market leader in terms of value and impact of research content.
What you will be doing:
- Drive Researcher Services content growth, KOL acquisition and influence in the US; responsibility for performance and objective attainment in line with strategic objectives
- Lead, inspire and coach a high level senior team to ensure high engagement, delivery of objectives, and a culture of high performance, in the US and in global growth markets as required
- Establish, maintain and develop high level relationships with key US customer groups; researchers and research key opinion leaders, funders, societies and institutions, commercial, professional and academic as well as government and regulatory bodies
- Provide market feedback to the company leadership regarding competitive offerings and regional market trends, and generate product and services development ideas
- Monitor and report on KPIs including revenue, costs, overheads, usage and user behaviours to inform future strategic development
- Develop and report on budgets and forecasts for the current year and against three-year plans
- Continually developing the T&F brand and profile, building increasing awareness through representing the company at events globally as required
- Senior leadership for the Philadelphia office hub
Qualifications
What we are looking for:
- The ability to lead and inspire a team
- Strong commercial focus and experience in managing the P&L within a strategic business unit
- A firm grasp of strategic issues affecting the global research sector
- A proven track record in developing, managing and implementing content delivery for a global publishing business
- Significant experience of managing change
- Experience of managing significant budgets
- Extensive capability in assessing market conditions, looking externally and adapting business priorities dependant on macro and micro factors
- The ability to communicate and form strong working relationships and networks effectively at all levels, both internally and externally
- Outstanding team leadership skills
- Results-oriented with the ability to manage from strategic development to detailed execution
- A proven track record of delivering high performance both personally and commercially
- Effective management of cost and revenue growth
- Excellent commercial understanding and awareness
- Extremely competent presenter (formally and informally)
