Summary:
As the Senior Events and Field Marketing Manager at Temporal, you will drive the strategy, execution, and return on investment of various events—from trade shows and conferences to internal events and company-hosted developer conferences. You will collaborate with demand generation, product marketing, sales, solution architecture, and developer advocacy teams to ensure events deliver on both brand and business objectives. This role requires excellent planning, organization, and leadership skills and the ability to operate autonomously and within a team in a fast-growing, high-energy environment.

This position boosts brand visibility, drives lead generation, and fosters engagement with key developer communities. Success in this role will directly contribute to Temporal’s growth and positioning as a leader in durable execution software.

What You’ll Do:

  • Assist with the strategic planning and execution of the annual and quarterly events calendar and corresponding budget.
  • Manage all aspects of conference sponsorships, from logistics coordination (e.g., equipment, catering, marketing collateral, promotional giveaways) to team travel arrangements.
  • Collaborate within Events and Field Marketing to plan and execute Temporal’s annual developer conference, Replay.
  • Assist with organizing and overseeing annual internal company-wide events.
  • Work closely with the demand generation and marketing teams to plan and execute engagement and nurture programs before, during, and after each event.
  • Track event-specific budgets, focusing on delivering high-quality leads, generating a sales pipeline, and maximizing ROI for each event.
  • Manage external vendor relationships, including negotiating budgets and contracts, ensuring the best value for the company.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure event deliverables align with overall business goals, managing pre-event planning and post-event follow-up strategies.
  • Travel up to 50% during peak conference seasons, averaging 25-30% annually.

What You’ll Bring:

  • 7-10 years of event management experience, preferably in the tech or software industry.
  • Proven track record in managing both large-scale conferences and smaller, field-focused events.
  • Experience working within high-growth, fast-paced environments, preferably in companies with a technical or open-source focus.
  • Strong understanding of marketing automation platforms (e.g., Marketo), CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce), and project management tools.
  • Preferred: Experience working in or around open-source communities and familiarity with developer ecosystems.

Compensation

  • The estimated pay range for this role is $140,000 - 175,000
  • This role is eligible to participate in Temporal's equity plan
Compensation ranges reflect salary and commission compensation (when applicable) across several geographic markets.
