Position Overview
The primary responsibility of the Field Optimization Specialist is to improve operational effectiveness. This may be through upgraded processes, tools, equipment, or training. The person filling this role will work with cross-departmental stakeholders to test, validate, and implement operational solutions that protect and improve the Broista and customer experience. This person will also be responsible for ensuring our system documentation is up to date as solutions are found, overseeing the implementation of proven solutions, and monitoring effectiveness.
Key Result Areas (KRAs)
Ensure our Retail operational systems are effective and efficient:
Build and manage projects that maximize the effectiveness of retail operational systems
Identify opportunities for product, process, and workstation operations simplification and/or deletion.
Analyze labor utilization, facility layout, interior equipment designs, operational data, and other information to evaluate interior flow effectiveness and identify areas of opportunity.
Prepares recommendations and works with various teams to develop and implement approved plans
Assemble data and suggest ways to make improvements to increase productivity, reduce costs, improve time management, or make needed adjustments
Collaborate with DBHQ stakeholders, Franchisees, and Operators to test potential solutions that optimize operational effectiveness in the shop
Work with Retail leadership to approve solutions to retail operational systems
Maintain up-to-date project tracking for all active projects
Work with other DBHQ Business Units to ensure all field operations are effectively supported
Troubleshoot and determine the root cause of process problems or failures by observing, receiving, and otherwise obtaining information from all relevant sources
Ensure system documentation is up to date at all times:
Work with the Standards team to ensure documentation is accurate as solutions are proven (prior to full implementation)
Write policies, SOPs, work instructions, and create forms as needed
Facilitate the implementation of retail solutions:
Communicate with the Dutch Bros Field Learning team to ensure training is prepared
Manage appropriate implementation timelines reflective of urgency and impact
Job Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in a related field or 4 years related experience, required
1-2 years Dutch Bros Shop Lead or higher experience, preferred
1-2 years Experience in Dutch Bros stand operations, preferred
Willingness to travel <25% of the time (including monthly shop visits)
Must have excellent communication, presentation, and project management skills
Must have a working knowledge of personal computers and related word processing, and spreadsheet applications
Must be able to train adults with varying learning styles
Must be detail oriented and have initiative
Location Requirement:
This position is required to be in Phoenix, Arizona and required 4 days/week in office.
