About the team

The Stateful Applications team primary focus is the development of features and integration of the stack applications in our Cloud and in-premises offerings, allowing users to run Elastic workloads in a simple and extensible way.

About The Role

We are looking for a full stack software engineer to join the team and help us on our journey to improve and support our product. This engineer will help us drive forward our products, focusing in innovation, automation and reliability.

Working through a mix of projects, improvements and troubleshooting sessions, the ideal candidate will contribute to the improvement of our engineering standards and reduction of toil work by means of automation and self-healing features!

What You Will Be Doing:

You will work alongside a diverse and distributed team to craft changes that drive the growth of our Cloud products, review and create technical designs and build POCs for new efforts, validating whether a wild idea works before committing to it.

As a member of this team you'll be sharing responsibility for maintaining, contributing and owning the services we support. Part of your daily routine will include working in projects alongside other engineers and teams, debugging technical issues inside a sophisticated stack or improving tooling and automation, with a goal to make the support side of the role as hands-free as possible.

What You Bring Along:

• Experience in Scala (Go is a plus)
• Good understanding of distributed systems and communication between services
• Deep understanding of the HTTP layer and RESTful API design standards
• Familiarity with RESTful API authentication methods and security standard processes
• Good communication skills with individuals and teams with different backgrounds and skills
• You care deeply about the resilience and quality of the features you ship
• You love working with a global team in a distributed work environment

Compensation for this role is in the form of base salary.  This role does not have a variable compensation component.  

The typical starting salary range for new hires in this role is listed below.  In select locations (including Seattle WA, Los Angeles CA, the San Francisco Bay Area CA, and the New York City Metro Area), an alternate range may apply as specified below. 

These ranges represent the lowest to highest salary we reasonably and in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting.  We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the ranges may be modified in the future.  

An employee's position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, performance, and business or organizational needs.

Elastic believes that employees should have the opportunity to share in the value that we create together for our shareholders. Therefore, in addition to cash compensation, this role is currently eligible to participate in Elastic's stock program.  Our total rewards package also includes a company-matched 401k with dollar-for-dollar matching up to 6% of eligible earnings, along with a range of other benefits offered with a holistic emphasis on employee well-being.
