JOB SUMMARY/PURPOSE
Conducts training for licensed, non-licensed operators, and shift technical advisors in reactor operations covering replacement, requalification, upgrade, etc., consistent with NRC (Nuclear Regulatory Commission) requirements. Develops and maintains operations training programs.
JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
- Administers training programs to ensure the availability of qualified and licensed personnel.
- Interfaces with line personnel to analyze performance needs and recommend appropriate training solutions.
- Analyzes, designs, develops, implements, and evaluates training materials and programs using the systematic approach to training.
- Administers and coordinates training programs for sites and corporate groups as assigned.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Minimum education required for the position
- Desired: B.S. Degree in education, engineering, or related technical degree or equivalent.
Minimum experience required for the position
- Instructor, Ops Sr Staff: 5 years of nuclear plant experience (commercial or military) or a B.S. degree in education, engineering, or related technical degree or equivalent experience.
- At least five years of experience in the associated line organization.
- Desired: 3 years previously licensed as PWR SRO.
Minimum knowledge, skills, and abilities required for the position
- Technical proficiency in the assigned area. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Any certificates, licenses, etc. required for the position
- Instructor Ops, Sr Staff: Senior Reactor Operator (SRO) license or certification on BWR, PWR or both.
