The Corporate Occupational Health Manager manages the Company’s occupational health and industrial hygiene efforts through the anticipation, recognition, evaluation and control of occupational health hazards in all company and subsidiary work environments.   Provides oversight on regulatory issues and their possible impact.  Develops industrial hygiene and related loss control programs, guidelines and procedures, and provides technical support and training for implementation throughout the Company.  

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develops and updates Zachry’s corporate industrial hygiene programs for compliance with Company, customer, and regulatory requirements.
  • Leads assessment activities in Company and subsidiary work environments for compliance with Company, customer and regulatory requirements. Participation in the Corporate Focus Audits of projects and locations.  
  • Provides consultation to Zachry’s management, staff and employees on industrial hygiene, safety and other loss control concerns. 
  • Leads efforts in providing technical support to sites for developing and implementing site-specific Industrial hygiene programs.
  • Leads efforts in providing technical support to sites for the statistical calculation, evaluation and interpretation of sampling results.
  • Leads efforts in providing evaluation activities and approvals for appropriate industrial hygiene sampling and personal protective equipment.
  • Leads efforts in providing research, development, and facilitation in order to provide educational and training programs, as needed, to improve competency in industrial hygiene skills.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 3-5 years of related work experience
  • Ability to travel 20% 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS 

  • 10 years of related work experience 
  • CIH Certification 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Employee will be required to communicate in person, via telephone, email, video chat, and software systems.  Position may include visits to construction sites and industrial facilities requiring mobility (on ground and at heights) and the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) including but not limited to: hardhat, safety glasses/goggles, ear plugs/muffs, masks/respirators, safety vests, gloves and work boots.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Work will be in a professional, buttoned up corporate office environment operating and functioning at a fast pace. Working out of contemporary open workspaces, and various conference rooms when collaborating with team members.  Our corporate campus includes an on-site café with various daily breakfast, lunch and snack-time selections, a sizeable fitness center equipped with various state of the art workout equipment & weights, outdoor walking/jogging-path, herb garden, basketball half-court, sand-volleyball court, soccer field, as well as a clinic with a certified nurse practitioner. Office noise will be low and generally consist of cube neighbors’ phone-calls, conversations and/or laughter.  You can expect people to treat you with friendliness and respect throughout the Zachry campus.
