Department Overview
Our fixed and mobile video, access control and software solutions help our customers find, analyze and share information so they can respond to events with speed and decisiveness to keep people and property safe. The mobile video mechanical engineering team is looking for a mechanical engineer to help develop the best in class body-worn cameras and in-car video systems.
Job Description
This position is for a Software Engineering Intern opportunity at Motorola Solutions, Inc in Allen, TX. We are looking for a student with a strong interest in embedded systems to help expand our team and deliver the next generation of communication devices to our customers.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
Preferred Skills:
Work in an Agile/Scrum team to analyze, design, implement, and test new two-way radio products and features.
Teamwork in a multi-site, world-wide development environment.
Create and execute unit, integration, system, load, and acceptance tests.
Experience in C/C++ is a plus.
Experience in real-time embedded software is a plus.
Strong communication and problem solving skills is a plus.
Experience using version control; Git is a plus.
Experience with Linux is a plus.
Experience with embedded development/debug tools (such as emulators/JTAG, etc.) is a plus

Basic Requirements
Must be pursuing a Bachelor's, Master's or Doctoral degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related field and graduating December 1st, 2025 or later.
Must be a US Citizen, permanent resident or be an MS student with work authorization (F1 Visa on CPT accepted only for masters-level students).
